Ethereum Layer 2 Scaling Solution (Part. 1)

😸 Delve deeper into 3 platforms of Ethereum Layer 2, scaling solution that are on fire right now to strengthen ETH 2.0

.

Ethereum is another Decentralized Application (DApps) platform which is very popular and gains everyone’s trust. Meanwhile, there are still the gaps that need to be fixed, for example, high gas fee, although it became lower recently and the slow transaction compared to other platforms.

.

From the problem of using above, Layer 2 was born. Layer 2 Scaling Solution has 3 chains at the moment to have a closer look: Arbitrum, Optimism and zkSync that are willing to help kill the Ethereum weakness and make it a pro while remaining on the Ethereum chain.

.

PART 1

Let’s begin with Arbitrum Layer 2 Solutions, initiated and developed by the Offchain Labs. The purpose of Arbitrum development is to make smart contracts on Ethereum become more effective and this will generate scalability and make the transactions completed faster including the privacy features. The bottomline is to make it easier when users will develop the projects on Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)

.

What is EVM?

The code of smart contract runs on every computer, categorized in turing complete which welcomes all types of coding language.

.

Arbitrum applies the technology to process the complicated data called “Rollup” which allows the transaction from the different blockchain but still links the Ethereum chain directly.

.

Arbitrum has the technology called Optimistic Rollup, moving the transactions off-chain before sending the processed data back to the Ethereum chain, so called, they work as a sidechain. This method reduces the data of transaction gathering on Ethereum chain at one point.

.

At the moment, Arbitrum doesn’t have tokens itself because the team says Arbitrum is the technology developed to solve the Ethereum problem so ETH is fine.
